Porn Stars Bare All To Say "hdtv Sucks" By Tom Cruse That's according to a survey on LCD TV
Adult film performers say everything can be seen in high-def, including razor burns.
The survey confirms that the adult industry's decision to begin releasing films in HDTV has some actors and actresses feeling exposed. They say the crystal-clear HD cameras reveal every facial imperfection and aging sign.
"The biggest problem is razor burn," Stormy Daniels, an actress, writer and director.
Since high-def was introduced several years ago, many Hollywood celebrities have expressed concerns that the new picture technology could hurt their careers. Because the picture is so much clearer than standard definition, HD owners can suddenly see what the stars look like without the protection of a fuzzy analog picture and favorable lighting.
However, it's somewhat surprising to hear adult performers, who willingly bear all on screen, exhibit some fear. Daniels even hopes that high-def porn will not catch on.
"I'm not 100 percent sure why anyone would want to see their porn in
HD," she said.
However, adult studio executives say they can fix every blemish in the control room with digital software.
"It takes away the blemishes and the pits and harshness and makes it look like they have baby skin," says Joone who heads the film studio Digital Playground.
But Daniels says she's not so sure.
"Men are all about outdoing each other, being up with the times, being cool, having the latest technology," she told the newspaper. "They're willing to sacrifice our vanity and imperfections to beat each other to High-Definition."
The gradual improvements that occurred in tube technology meant that CRT televisions had a reasonable shelf life. With the rapid advances in LCD panels, much like the desktop industry, the panel you bought yesterday is rendered obsolete today.
For those people interested in acquiring a flat panel LCD, the technology announced at CES will be filtering into retail over the next six months however some vendors will be waiting till the second half of the year to launch their new range.
